Description: A short video summarizing why I've found that the idea of God is insufficient for explaining the condition of existence in general. |

| huxtiblejones ::: Favorites Life is not depressing without God. Life is depressing with God. Christianity is hostile to earthly life because it has people believe that it gets better than this - that this life is a tiny apartment compared to the mansion of eternity. What have you got to lose? Time. Self-esteem. Religion makes people believe absurdities which have real-life consequences - e.g. banning abortion, taking away gay rights, etc. 07-11-04 01:23:27 __________________________________________________ | |
| Bodhichickva ::: Favorites kind of depressing without a God of hope, don't ya think? hey man, i choose to believe in divine, i could be proving wrong, but what ya got to loose? i have years ago, tried other things than God, and it got old, boring! lool 07-11-03 14:30:32 __________________________________________________ | |
| AidenSlump ::: Favorites I could ask you "Well, what created the tiny particles in the first place..." and you could ask me, "Well, if God exists, who created God?" But what seems to make more sense? A being who's perfect in every way being eternal, or a bunch of random particles being eternal? Of course, your answer to that question is your opinion, and you're entitled to it, but I was simply sharing my thoughts on it and the thought I live by when it comes to creation. ~zack~ 07-10-27 22:29:46 __________________________________________________ | |
| AidenSlump ::: Favorites Creation. Hmm... well, a lot of your arguments cover, using science, how created things made the world we live in now come about, but it doesn't really cover how things were created in the first place. Let's think about the big bang. Even as a christian, I cannot thouroughly deny that the big bang happened and have a valid opinion, but I can make this argument: (con'td in next comment) 07-10-27 22:29:11 __________________________________________________ | |

| huxtiblejones ::: Favorites I don't believe anything happens when you die because I have no other reason to suppose that anything does happen when you die. All signs of consciousness upon death cease - the brain does not function at all so there is no reason to believe anything happens when you die. In fact, many people who die and are resuscitated simply say, "I had no idea I even died." 07-10-12 02:09:42 __________________________________________________ | |
| qqqnnnnnyyyyyddd ::: Favorites just curious what do you believe happens when you die? 07-10-11 16:10:45 __________________________________________________ | |
| huxtiblejones ::: Favorites Please don't threaten me. I could be making the biggest mistake of my life? So could you. What if the one true God is Allah? What if it's Osiris? Trust me, my friend, I have read the Bible quite thoroughly along with ancient texts and other religions, I don't blindly make my decisions. I'm just saying that to suppose that weather patterns have something to do with a God communicating to humans is ridiculous, you can explain weather in a multitude of other ways. 07-10-10 22:16:06 __________________________________________________ | |
| qqqnnnnnyyyyyddd ::: Favorites yeah your right but i never said god made it happen to show me and my family heaven exist, you came up with that ideah on your own. I left that up to n e ones imagination. But if you are really an athiest you should study the bible and then make a choice if you havent already done that. im not here to bring you down man. I can tell you are a smart guy by the way you speak. just know that you could be making the biggest mistake of your life. 07-10-10 16:43:19 __________________________________________________ | |
| huxtiblejones ::: Favorites You could easily explain the snowfall if you asked a meteorologist why it snowed. Ascribing a natural phenomena to something selfish like "God made it happen to show me and my family that heaven exists" is incredibly misguided. Nature has no will and nothing that happens has anything to do with human desire or need. If God wanted to prove that Heaven existed, I can imagine at least 5 ways that would be far easier and far more convincing than simple snowfall. 07-10-09 23:43:00 __________________________________________________ | |
